About the Client
The client for this project would like to remain anonymous. This is due to the fact that she will be posting rather personal information about herself within her blog. The blog page itself was designed and developed to become a platform for the client to write about her experience as an adult with ADHD, and the struggles she faced growing up ‘different’. Our client hopes to provide useful insight into the lesser known world ADHD, within the mental health sector.
As you may know, there are lots of resources and outlets out there for people suffering with mental illnesses… For example depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. So why is adult ADHD so unheard of and so little known about it? These are things that the client will cover in her blog.
The client contacted Roundhay Web Design with her website idea. She had a pretty well thought out vision of a one page, scrolling website with lots of good imagery on there, too. We discussed the branding of the website and came up with some brilliant ideas, however it was the pop art theme that won! It works extremely well on the Bad Adult website. As you can see, it has created a wonderfully strong branding design to be used through the website.
Our client can continue this theme by choosing the same style of images to use in her blog posts. Creating the logo was lots of fun! We toyed around with many different colours before deciding on the final colour-scheme. Our design team came up with highlighting 4 letters with Bad Adult (ADAD), but then altering the second ‘A’ slightly, to make it look like the word ADHD within Bad Adult. Cool, huh?
The blog style Bad Adult website is a one page, scrolling site. Meaning, the only other pages on there other than home is the contact page. The ‘pages’ you see on the menu bar at the top of the homepage are in fact categories – not pages! When you click on one of the links to brings you to a page full of blog posts and articles relating to that subject in particular. There are also links to social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – all of which can be utilised as excellent marketing tools, especially for blog style websites such as Bad Adult.
Whilst the majority of work has been completed, the website is still a work in progress, there are a few more tweaks and adjustments to be made. Our client has seen a preview of the site and loves it, especially the pop art imagery used, phew! We knew she’d like it anyway, as we took a collaborative approach to the project, tossing ideas back and forth until we came up with the best possible solution. We are very much looking forward to seeing the website go live on the internet, which will more than likely be early 2019!
